Yusnier Figueredo Almaguer, a man who was a fugitive from justice after murdering his wife in the city of Holguin last Tuesday, was finally captured, as updated this Friday by the Facebook profile Cazador-Cazado.
As usual, the official source avoided the term "femicide" and stated that the man "killed his wife due to passionate problems" on May 28th.
"Coldly, he calculated his actions and in the late hours of the night, he strangled her, showing no respect or consideration for the young woman," the note stated.
The official source added that the subject was captured on the street in the municipality of Banes, less than 72 hours after committing the crime.
He walked without remorse, but despite reveling in an act of bloodshed, he made the law prevail... and so it will always be in the face of the violent and unscrupulous who overturn the peace and well-being of a family," concluded Hunter-Hunted, who asked for light for the victim and strength for their children and relatives.
Ariadna Gámez Quintana, 32 years old, was the mother of four children, all of them minors. The two youngest are children of the aggressor, who has a history of domestic violence.
The minors were witnesses to the horrendous crime, as reported on social media by YoSíTeCreo en Cuba.
Feminist platforms confirmed late this Thursday three femicides that occurred in Cuba within a span of just two weeks, as well as the first murder of a man for gender-related reasons recorded so far this year on the island.
The women killed in the last few days, who died at the hands of their partners in all cases, had a total of nine children who are now orphaned. They were the mothers of nine children between the three of them.
Two of those sexist crimes occurred on the same day, albeit in different provinces.
The total number of femicides in Cuba so far this year has risen to 22.
