A young Cuban woman, who lives in the United States, has moved social media with a video of the moment her daughter arrives on the island to reunite with her dad.
After having shown on social media a few days earlier their suitcases and Cuban passports ready to travel, @yanetatlanta revealed that she had been in Cuba.
"I would have loved to go to Cancun, my friend, but my daughter told me 'I want to see my dad.' She left when she was two years old, and it has been five years since she last saw her dad. Even though they talk every single day, she has been asking me for a long time to take her to see her dad, so she insisted," she said at the beginning of the video, which has already gathered over 128 thousand likes on the platform.
In her words, heard off-camera as the touching reunion unfolds, the young woman emphasized the importance of the father figure in her daughter's life: "This is the main reason for our trip because I do know how important it is for a father to be present in their children's lives," she said, highlighting that, despite any personal differences, the most important thing is the well-being of the girl.
"It doesn't matter how many differences you may have, the most important thing is the well-being of your daughter. If what makes her happy is to hug her dad again, I was never going to stand in her way," she stated.
The video also showed the reunion with other family members, such as an older sister who was waiting at the airport and the grandmother.
The viral post ended with a recommendation for other parents who find themselves in similar situations, emphasizing the need to separate personal issues from family relationships: "Do not interfere in your child's relationship with their father or mother. Learn to separate your personal adult problems from the affection that your child's father or mother may have for them. Your child needs a father or a mother."
The video has had a great impact on the platform, where the comments exceed three thousand and has been played more than 2.3 million times.
After this viral video, the young Cuban woman uploaded another one to the network of her last day on the island and explained the decision to go alone to the airport to make the little girl's farewell more bearable.
