Animal lover rescues abandoned puppy inside a closed plastic bag in Mayabeque.

It seems like the dog is sick with distemper. However, the shelter reported that they will do everything possible to save him.

An animal rights activist in Mayabeque rescued a little dog abandoned inside a tied plastic bag on Monday, stating visibly moved that "if he didn't move, he would have suffocated and been unable to breathe."

Yenney Caballero reported the incident on Facebook and stated that, unlike the person who committed the animal abuse, she will fight for the dog: "If he doesn't survive, he will have a dignified ending as a living being."

The activist reported that the puppy appears to have the disease known as distemper, and although he is already being treated with a serum, she asked for help: "I would greatly appreciate anyone who could get me some phenobarbital pills."

"They could have left it at the door of the veterinary clinic or at the entrance of my house, I would not leave a baby abandoned like that," Caballero pointed out, who has proven to be a fervent animal advocate.

Human misery is great, which is why they do not prosper. "I am tired of human beings," she expressed, wishing she could take the animals away from a planet that she considers full of people devoid of values.

Hours after reporting the case of animal abuse, Caballero informed that the puppy is not in good health.

Canine distemper is a very terrible disease, we are now at the vet getting his medications, because I am not going to give up," said the animal protector while sharing a gallery of photos showing that they are doing everything possible to save the puppy's life.

I ask God that he achieves it, but if not, he is receiving a lot of love and all the necessary attention," he stated in his post.

Cases of animal abandonment are not isolated incidents.

The Cuban regime's inaction on animal protection and rights often leaves many dogs, cats, and horses at the mercy of their owners' abuse.

Recently, the abandonment of five newborn puppies in the rain caused great outrage among the animal rights activists of Sancti Spiritus, who mobilized through social media to save the lives of the little dogs.

The ARCA foundation described the incident on Facebook as "a tragedy" while reporting that the puppies had been rescued: "They have already been picked up, but an urgent foster mother is needed."

An internet user reported on Monday that a dog was abandoned at a bus stop in Havana, where they were left tied to a fence with a collar and their name written on a piece of cardboard; the animal was rescued and now they are looking for someone to adopt them.
