Cuban activist Nelson Álvarez, who identifies himself on social media as El Porfiao, asked for help for a baby under one year old who is hospitalized in Havana and needs milk and cereals to gain weight.

The child has a laryngeal cleft, three heart conditions, and gastroesophageal reflux, and has already undergone a tracheotomy and a gastrostomy.

According to his mother's complaint, the child has trouble gaining weight and needs to consume foods that are not available at the Juan Manuel Márquez Pediatric Hospital in Marianao.

Currently he weighs 3,700 grams and I urgently need cereals, milks that help him gain some weight. We have been admitted for six months already, almost seven," he said.

El Porfiao shared on his Facebook wall the bank account numbers to which those who wish to help this mother and her baby can send money.

CUP-9205959879504109 and MLC-9235959873600758. To confirm: 52523871.

In another post, Álvarez exposed the cases of other minors with complicated medical conditions, many of them coming from low-income families, who need supplies, food, and medication.

"Time, friends, can be your greatest enemy, so let's get to work, let's not leave them alone," he requested.

A campaign is costly for many reasons, such as travel, transportation, internet, purchasing everything that the moms are asking me for, in short, the expenses are enormous. That's why we ask for your collaboration with whatever you can provide," she insisted.
