Animal welfare advocates in Cuba are once again mobilizing through social media to locate the owners of a dog that boarded a bus in San Antonio de Río Blanco, part of the Jaruco municipality in the Mayabeque province, and ended up in San José de las Lajas, the provincial capital.
Yenney Caballero raised awareness about this situation on Facebook, noting that the puppy is "well cared for, wearing that little chain, and the girl in the photo is keeping her safe in her home."
The activist asked for help in finding her family but clarified that "she only surrenders to the rightful owners."
Recently, Yanari Pérez, a Cuban resident of the Playa municipality in Havana, offered a reward for anyone who would find and return her dog, which has been missing for four days.
Pérez and his family's desperation has grown over time, especially due to the emotional impact that the absence of their pet has had on their young son.
"Please, my little dog went missing. If anyone sees her, please let me know; her name is Linda. My son is going crazy," she pleaded in a message shared on Facebook.
A Cuban woman went through a similar ordeal after her pet, a Chihuahua named Milán, went missing.
Yahima Tamayo Cuello shared photos of her dog on her Facebook profile and appealed for empathy from anyone who might find him to help reunite her with the animal.
"I don't care if I have to pay; I just ask for a little empathy. Whoever sees this, has it, finds it, please return it to me. Nothing else matters, not the money, nothing," she cried out in a desperate plea.
