Otto Ortiz illustrates the life cycle of a pair of underwear in Cuba: “From garment to dust cloth.”

The Cuban comedian explained what happens to this piece of clothing when a small hole appears in it.

The comedian Otto Ortiz illustrated the life cycle of a pair of underwear in Cuba, which starts as undergarments and ends up being repurposed as a dust cloth in homes.

Ortiz explained on Facebook this Wednesday that when a nearly new pair of underwear develops a small hole, it stops being a seductive item and is instead used for construction work, mechanics, or extreme sports.

"And how long is he going to be doing those tasks? Until the hole is so big that a testicle comes out of it," the comedian said, barely containing his laughter.

"Then it goes to the cleaning area," he pointed out. "And it is used as a dust cloth, for mechanics, or to wash your hands."

Finally, he stated, "That is called creative resistance."

This Tuesday, Ortiz, who is known for using humor to highlight societal issues and the regime, expressed his wish to live on Cuban television: “There is so much optimism, so much joy, so much faith in the future.”

Ortiz expressed his regret on Facebook about living in Nuevo Vedado, listing the reasons why he believes it would be much better to live in Televisión Cubana.

Some of the reasons for moving to the "neighborhood" of Cuban Television include that "ETECSA, Aguas de La Habana, the Electric Company, Public Health, and even private agricultural markets, were all national vanguards and in service of the people," thus denouncing that the media, as mouthpieces of the regime, convey a conflict-free and sanitized version of Cuban reality.
