After her unforgettable performance at the opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Céline Dion posted a message on her social media to share how happy she felt to be on such a big stage.
"I feel honored to have performed tonight, for the opening ceremony of Paris 2024, and so joyful to be back in one of my favorite cities!" confessed the Canadian artist.
In his message, he also dedicated a few words to all the athletes participating in the games: “Above all, I am very happy to celebrate these incredible athletes, with all their stories of sacrifice and determination, pain and perseverance. All of you have been so focused on your dream, and whether or not you take a medal home, I hope that being here means it has come true for you! You all should be so proud; we know how hard you have worked to be the best of the best. Stay focused, keep moving forward, my heart is with you!”
From the top of the Eiffel Tower, Céline Dion masterfully closed the inauguration of the games with her moving interpretation of Hymne à l'amour (Hymn to Love), the song by the famous French artist Édith Piaf.
The appearance of Céline, after several years away from the stage following her diagnosis with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), has been interpreted around the world as an act of bravery, perseverance, personal growth, and love for life and music.
