Céline Dion, her team, and record label reported this Saturday the unauthorized use of her music during a Donald Trump rally in Montana.
"Today, Céline Dion's management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., learned of the unauthorized use of the video, recording, musical performance, and image of Céline Dion singing 'My Heart Will Go On' at a campaign rally for Donald Trump / JD Vance in Montana," reads a post on the official account of the Canadian singer on X.
"This use is not authorized in any way, and Céline Dion does not endorse this or any similar use... And really, THAT song?" questions the statement.
Certainly, the choice of the soundtrack for the movie Titanic could bring other interpretations in that political context.
For many, referencing Titanic is a kind of metaphor for what the former president's campaign might be like, but aside from speculation, the choice of theme was not the most fitting, and not only because its use was not endorsed by the artist.
