Mamey, a tropical fruit little known in Spain, has captured the attention of followers on social media thanks to a fruit vendor from Tejina, Tenerife, Canary Islands.
This merchant, owner of a family business known as Frutas y Verduras Nito, couldn't resist seeing a ripe mamey in his store. He decided to share his enthusiasm with the thousands of fans following him on Instagram.
"I saw a ripe mamey and I couldn't resist the urge," he confessed in his post.
The mamey, considered one of the sweetest fruits in the world, holds a special place in Cuban cuisine, and Nito clearly highlighted it in his video.
"This for Cubans is the best of the best." Additionally, he highlighted its vibrant orange color and exceptional flavor.
One of the most interesting pieces of information he shared with his followers was the Cuban trick to enjoy mamey pulp to the fullest: Try it blended with milk, very cold.
"It's just amazing, but blended with milk... It's the best!" commented Nito while showing the pulp of the fruit.
The enthusiasm of the Spanish fruit vendor for the mamey has awakened the curiosity of many of his followers, who are discovering this tropical fruit and learning to enjoy it as they do in Cuba.
