Cuban talent and music will once again be present at the 2024 Latin Grammy Awards, as several names of musicians and creators from the island appear on the list of nominees, which was announced this Tuesday.

The award ceremony for the 25th anniversary of the awards, the most prestigious in Latin music, will take place on November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

The Cuban artists who aspire to take home a golden gramophone are:

Cimafunk and Monsieur Periné compete for the Record of the Year award with "Catalina".

In the Song of the Year category, we find the Cuban Daymé Arocena nominated along with Vicente García for "A fuego lento."

Among the nominees for Best New Artist is the group Darumas, which includes the Argentine Aldana Aguirre on bass, the Cuban Ceci León on vocals and guitar, and the vocalist born in Haiti and residing in Chile, Vedala Vilmond.

The Cuban rapper Al2 El Aldeano is nominated along with Vico C for Best Rap/Hip Hop Song for "Blam Blam."

Aiming to win the award for Best Traditional Tropical Album are three Cubans: Alex Cuba with "Voces de mi familia," Yelsy Heredia with "Los Mismos Negros," and Yeisy Rojas with "A mis ancestros."

The Cuban guitarist Renesito Avich and Rafael "Pollo" Brito are nominated for Best Tropical Song with "Baila y goza." Also nominated in the same category are the Cuban composer Jorge Luis Piloto with "Hasta que aguante el cuerpo" and the Cuban composer Miguel Yadam González Cárdenas along with Jorge Luis Chacín and Fonseca for "Con Dinero y sin Dinero."

In the category of Best Latin Jazz Album, we find nominees Sammy Figueroa alongside Cubans Gonzalo Rubalcaba and Aymée Nuviola for "Searching For A Memory (Busco Tu Recuerdo)." Additionally, Gonzalo Rubalcaba is also nominated with "Collab" together with Hamilton De Holanda.

The Cuban-Canadian Hilario Durán is nominated for Best Arrangement for "Night In Tunisia."

Paquito D'Rivera hopes to win the award for Best Contemporary Classical Work/Composition for "Caribbean Berceuse."

With the album Celia Cruz En Vivo – 100 Años de Azúcar, the Cuban-American producers, designers, and art directors Nelson Albareda, Kemelly Figueroa-Mouriz, Albertico Rodríguez, and Omer Pardillo-Cid, president of the Celia Cruz Foundation in Miami, are competing in the Best Recording Package category.
