A 31-year-old Cuban, identified as Luis M. Llanta and known in the drag scene in Villa Clara by the stage name "Gia," was murdered this Tuesday, according to several acquaintances who expressed dismay over the crime on social media.
"Fly high and free, Luis M. Llanta. I just hope the guilty one faces all the justice. You left me! I carry you in my heart forever!" wrote actress and activist Kiriam Gutiérrez on Facebook.
Journalist Yosmany Mayeta later revealed - based on the testimony of the victim's relatives - that Luis was stabbed and also beaten.
They stole her belongings and her phone, although the motivation for the crime is not clear, which was also marked by cruelty.
"He hit him with a tube on the head and hid him under the kitchen counter, but the killer's sister told him to go turn himself in and now he's in jail," a source with knowledge of the case revealed to Mayeta Labrada.
The alleged murderer, who has reportedly already been arrested, claimed to the authorities that Luis M. Llanta owed him 200,000 pesos, an argument that a friend denied, stating that the deceased had money and that, if he needed it, he had someone to turn to.
The death of Luis M. Llanta has shocked his friends and loved ones.
"Oh, my sister... Luisa, as we told you! You have left us in the worst possible way, when they take away the life you possess. My friend, how many nights, how many experiences lived. It hurts my soul and my heart to have to write these words. You didn’t deserve that. You were a good person, helpful to your friends," wrote one of her friends, identified on the social network as "Cris Diamond."
"May God have mercy on your soul and take you to a place of light, where you belong. God will protect you under His mantle. You have left us with great pain... I still can't believe this happened. I love you so much and I will always carry you in my memory, Luis M. Llanta. Yesterday I was sitting with you and today you have left me. Fly high, brother!" concluded the moving post.
"Thank you for these years of friendship, for the lovely attentions during each of my visits to Santa Clara, for the delicious dishes from Patio de Olga, the beers, the anecdotes, and the conversations until dawn. Happy and unforgettable moments. Thank you for always being so affectionate with me and allowing me to collaborate in your image as a transformist, an art that you always loved. Although it was a short time, you fulfilled your dream. Rest in Peace, Luis M. Llanta. What a painful news!" wrote "Ashenal Houston."
Until the closure of this report, there are no other confirmed details about the crime.
