A Cuban named Delio Ramírez Rosales shared a photo of his modest lunch, sparking a wave of comments in the Facebook group Recipes of Cuban Food and the World.
In the image, you can see a plate of beans prepared only with garlic and oil, accompanied by white rice, a delicious ripe avocado, and a glass of water with honey as a drink.
Despite the simplicity of the food, Ramírez expressed gratitude for having food on his table, a gesture that resonated deeply among Cuban users on social media.
"And where did the meat go?" wrote a follower in the comments, while others expressed their gratitude for what they have, remembering that many do not share the same fortune.
"Thank God because at least you have that, since other unfortunate people don't even see rice in pictures," commented a person.
The reactions were diverse, but they all agreed on the importance of being grateful.
"In these times in Cuba, that is an expensive meal, given the prices. And it looks really tasty with that appetizing avocado. I love it!" expressed a user.
Ramírez's post, far from being a subject of mockery, became a space for reflection on everyday blessings, in a country undergoing a deep food crisis, with high inflation that leaves many families unable to bring a good piece of bread to the table.
