Official press claims that El Taiger was a victim of "a violent society like the American one."

The official newspaper Trabajadores has published a brief commentary in its digital edition addressing the incident that took place last Thursday involving the Cuban reggaeton artist José Manuel Carbajal Zadívar, 37 years old, artistically known as El Taiger, in which he accuses having been a victim of "a violent society like the American."

With the signature of the director of the aforementioned media, Joel García León, the recognized ideological lines established by the Communist Party and its organizations for Cuban journalism are predominant.

The journalist emphasizes that the news about the attack that El Taiger suffered last Thursday, which has left him in critical condition in a Miami hospital, must be reported objectively, despite the controversies surrounding the artist and his lifestyle. Furthermore, he stresses that the life of a human being is above any social judgment or musical preferences.

However, it does not miss the opportunity to criticize U.S. policy, pointing out that there is violence and insecurity, even in the areas where artists live. The article suggests that these problems contrast with the idealized image that exists of that country.

"But this post is not meant to debate about music. It is only to illustrate that the life of José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar is above all, and being a victim of a society as violent as the American one (whatever the reason may be) is not an exception, but the rule," he mentions in one of his paragraphs.

Lastly, although it does not specifically mention the situation in Cuba directly, it tries to justify the lack of information about the event in the national press, while the news has gained traction in various international media.

The investigation into the incident in which the Cuban reggaeton artist was shot in the head is still ongoing.

Dozens of Cubans gathered on Friday night in a prayer chain for the recovery of El Taiger, holding white candles.
