The influencer Dairon Cano requested the support of the Cuban community in the United States to help a young woman who survived a severe traffic accident in Miami.
"Melany Rodríguez was in a traffic accident on October 6, in which her partner and three friends lost their lives," Cano said, expressing gratitude to God for the miracle of leaving that young woman alive.
"My friend Soray is taking care of me," Melany said, her voice trembling. The young woman is experiencing emotional depression following the accident. She cannot move and has several surgeries from which she must slowly recover.
Melany is completely alone in the United States. She was on the verge of being sent to a shelter for unaccompanied individuals, but a Cuban woman, a kind-hearted friend, welcomed her into her home and took on the complex tasks involved in caring for someone who is bedridden.
"I brought her to my home to take care of her because she needs emotional support and someone to feed her, take her to the bathroom, and treat her with affection. (...) I am requesting a humanitarian visa for Melany's mother so she can come and care for her because I have two small children who need me, and sometimes I can't manage everything," Soray said.
The call to the Cuban community in the United States is not only for financial contributions that can assist Melany during this difficult time, but also to raise awareness of her case and to ensure that her mother receives a humanitarian visa to travel to the United States to care for her.
