The Cuban government has restored train and bus transportation, which experienced significant cancellations and changes on Wednesday ahead of the arrival of Hurricane Rafael in the western part of the island.
Transport Minister Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila shared a note on Facebook providing details about the service following the declaration of the Recovery Phase across the entire national territory.
Regarding national and local passenger rail transportation:
The circulation of Train 14 Guantánamo-Havana will resume this Thursday at 6:00 PM, and Train 17 Havana-Bayamo-Manzanillo will operate on its regular schedule this Thursday.
The Train 18 Manzanillo-Bayamo-Havana will also depart on Friday, leaving Manzanillo at 7:00 am and Bayamo at 10:05 am.
The Tren 16 Holguín-La Habana scheduled for Friday remains cancelled, as Tren 15 La Habana-Holguín did not operate on Wednesday.
"The departures of interprovincial and local trains will be gradually restored once the safety conditions for train operations are established," the statement specifies.
