Colombian singer delivers a sharp criticism of Karol G for "+57": "She doesn't want to give exposure to any other woman."

Farina criticizes Karol G for excluding other women in the song "+57," highlighting the lack of female visibility in Colombian urban music and sparking debate on social media.

The recent collaboration among some of the most prominent Colombian artists, including Karol G, Feid, DFZM, Ovy On The Drums, J Balvin, Maluma, Ryan Castro, and Blessd, has created a great deal of excitement among their fans, who were eager to see in this song a tribute to the diversity of Colombian talent.

The song, titled "+57" in honor of Colombia's telephone code, was announced as a proposal to elevate the country's urban music. However, following its release, not only the song but also its members have been the subject of controversy, especially after comments from singer Farina, who expressed her dissatisfaction concerning the absence of more women besides Karol G in the project.

"That response has to come from Karol G. The song belongs to her. I conclude that there is definitely a reluctance to give exposure to any other women in Colombia's urban music scene. That's what I think. I'm not saying this for myself, but for other representatives of urban music," Farina said in an interview on the show "En casa con Telemundo," where she was questioned about her exclusion from this collaboration and provided a response that sparked controversy.

The performer of "El Caballito" commented that she believes Karol G and the production team of "+57" are not interested in giving visibility to other women in urban music in Colombia. Farina emphasized that Colombia has highly talented female artists like Greeicy, Goyo, Nath, and Soley, who also could have contributed to the project. This suggests that the exclusion is not just about her but reflects a lack of support for women in the urban genre.

Farina's comments quickly sparked reactions on social media, where many supported her response, highlighting that women in the music industry still face barriers to receiving the same visibility as their male counterparts. Meanwhile, others suggested that Farina should feel relieved for not participating in the song, as some critics, including Rolling Stone magazine, gave the lyrics of "+57" an unfavorable review.

On the other hand, Karol G's fans defended the selection of artists for "+57," arguing that Bichota has provided great opportunities for emerging artists and that the collaboration was simply a gathering of close friends in music. They recalled that Karol G has supported new talents from Colombia in various ways throughout her career.
