Elvis Crespo has sparked reactions on social media with a funny video in which he referred to the recurring comparisons made about his resemblance to the Spanish singer Rosalía.
"Gentlemen, what do you think of my green hair? I'm tired of being compared to Rosalía, tired. Now I want to be compared to Karol G," he said humorously during his concert in Puerto Rico for the 25th anniversary of his album Suavemente.
The video has triggered an avalanche of comments on social media, where fans of 'the king of merengue' have celebrated his sense of humor, pointed out other 'reasonable resemblances,' and also unleashed their own creativity in their responses.
"From Elvis Crespo to Elvis Lacio"; "But you resemble Billie Eilish"; "Elvis Crespo aka Wason bb"; "I can't believe it, now he looks like Karina Torres from Las Perdidas"; "I was thinking about Beetlejuice"; "I say it's Dr. Polo and Caso Cerrado"; "A combination between Marilyn Manson, Wendy Guevara, and Elvis Crespo," is read among the reactions.
However, it is not the first time that the American artist of Puerto Rican descent has addressed this issue of physical resemblance between the two, which has led to memes and jokes and even 'theories' circulating on the internet that Crespo could be Rosalía's father.
In January 2022, the merengue singer published a statement on his Instagram social media denying with humor the rumors about his alleged relationship with Rosalía. "OFFICIAL STATEMENT: @rosalia.vt is not my daughter," he said at that time while sharing a video where their faces merged.
