"Shame in cleaning houses? A Cuban's strong response in Miami."

"I hope more people call me to clean their houses."

A young Cuban known as "La Cubanita Soñadora" on TikTok didn't stay silent in response to criticism from someone who asked her if she felt "ashamed" to clean houses in Miami. With complete sincerity, the Cuban responded in a video that is already racking up thousands of views and reactions on TikTok.

"Sir, I’m going to tell you something that will make many people laugh," begins @laflaki1304. She recounts that after posting a video of herself working, someone asked, "Don’t you feel embarrassed cleaning houses?" She quickly responded, "What? Embarrassed? I would be embarrassed to have two hands, two feet, and sell my body to make a living. That would truly be a source of shame for me, not with you all, but with myself!" With a direct and determined tone, the Cuban made it clear that she sees nothing shameful in earning a living through cleaning. "I’m going to keep cleaning houses; I hope more people call me to do theirs. If you need your house cleaned, get in touch and I’ll give you a cleaning with a Cuban touch."

The sincere and candid response has sparked a wave of support in the comments. Many have backed her and shared their own stories. One user wrote: "I've cleaned houses, clinics, banks, and I've even taken care of the elderly. It's shameful to have not a single peso in your pocket or to steal, but working honestly and living off your own sweat is not shameful." Another commented: "Shame is a thing of the past; for our family, we do what we have to do, and we do so with great pride."

Furthermore, many took the opportunity to commend her for her attitude. “You’re amazing, much respect”; “People are always poking their noses into others' lives; honest work is work”; and “Shame is not having money and being unable to pay the bills. You’re a fighter, no shame at all!” were just some of the messages she received.

Some even gave suggestions for faster success: “Try your hand in the cleaning business and start a company; there are plenty of clients in Miami, come on, you can do it!” Meanwhile, others jokingly reminisced about how “La Cubanita Soñadora” crossed borders to get where she is today: “Hey, explain to me, please, what are you doing crossing that wall like that?”

The truth is that the video from @laflaki1304 continues to gain support and laughter, demonstrating that for many, dignity and pride lie in honest effort, not in the type of work one does. Long live Cuban-style cleaning!
