In the city of Miami Beach, the pet-friendly trend continues to gain popularity, and this month, two more beaches have allowed dogs, provided their owners adhere to strict rules.
In addition to Bark Beach, the already established location in North Beach, starting in early November, furry friends are also welcome in areas of South Beach and Mid Beach, according to the City Manager's Office.
"Take your puppy to the beach! There are now three 'dog beaches' in Miami Beach," announced the City on its official profile on the social media platform X.
In South Beach, the area across from the beach at 21 Street will be open to four-legged friends every day of the week from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. from November to March, and from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. from April to October. Similarly, during the same hours and dates, dogs will also be allowed in the area near 53 Street in Mid Beach.
Similarly, these dates and hours will apply to 81 Street in North Beach, where pet visits were already permitted, although an extension of time has been approved: from Friday to Sunday, between 1:30 and 5:30 p.m., during the months of November to February, and on the same days from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., from March to October.
The City Administrator's Office stated that these areas frequented by dog owners are not major nesting sites for sea turtles, according to a report from Telemundo 51.
A post from the Greater Miami and Miami Beach website advises pet owners to make sure they bring enough water and waste bags, and to keep an eye on their dogs to prevent overheating in Miami's warm weather.
The specialized tourism portal in Miami recommends dog-friendly beaches in the Magic City, such as Haulover Beach Park and Hobie Beach, in addition to the aforementioned Bark Beach, located in North Beach Oceanside Park. The site InfoNegociosMiami also agrees in highlighting these three beaches as among the best that welcome dogs in Miami.
An increasing number of places in Miami now allow pets, including bars, restaurants, shopping centers, parks, hotels, and beaches, acknowledging that domestic animals are an essential part of human life.
