"This is my cousin Jesús David Pérez Corcho. To my friends and family in Jovellanos, I kindly ask you to share this. If anyone has seen him or knows his whereabouts, please write or call me. He is on that motorbike, and we haven't heard from him since yesterday at 4 PM," alerted Laura Marian Moreno García in a post on Facebook.

University professor Alicia María López Hernández also turned to social media to raise the alarm about the young man's disappearance.

“Please, I urge ALL individuals who know Jesús David Corcho Pérez, a very beloved young man from Jovellanos, Matanzas province, an exceptional human being and my most special student, to let us know if they see him or have seen him. He has not returned since he left his house yesterday at 4:30 on his purple scooter,” she explained in a Facebook post.

López said that "any information, no matter how simple, can help find him" and revealed that Corcho was wearing the same gray coat as in a photograph he shared and was riding his purple scooter, of which he also posted a picture.

Additionally, he provided the numbers 5 3463825 and 54887786 for anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact his family.

Other publications have also urged anyone who has seen him to immediately contact his family members.

Many people agree in describing Corcho as a young man dearly loved by his community. “People of Jovellanos, let’s come together and support the search for this child we all know; his family is desperate and this child is very much loved by everyone,” urged Rujaine Santana.

Reports of missing persons have been quite frequent in Cuba over the past year. Weekly, requests for help from family and friends circulate on social media in search of information to locate their loved ones, due to the lack of a state channel in Cuba to report such cases.

Regarding the disappearance of Corcho, who was last seen riding his motorcycle, some individuals expressed their concern about the rise in crime and the increasing insecurity in the country, particularly the surge in motorcycle thefts.

"One of the main issues is the theft of scooters; they keep happening, and nothing is done about it," warned a woman.

To which another young woman responded: "I experienced the robbery in my own home, and yes, there were fingerprints and 20 m******, but they didn't catch anyone. The level of banditry is just too high, and the police are getting no results."
