"You work to pay the rent and feel lonely": Latina shares her difficult experience in the United States

A young Dominican woman in the U.S. goes viral on TikTok, expressing the loneliness and stress she faces as an immigrant.

A young Dominican woman living in the United States has gone viral on TikTok after posting an emotional video in which she describes the challenges of living in that country. Through tears, user @cherlinanunez shared her experience.

"I know that not everyone has the same experience in the United States. But why do you want to come to this country?" she begins to say in the video, while sitting in her car. A moment to try to calm her mind amidst daily pressures.

The Dominican woman starkly describes the routine of many immigrants: "You work to pay rent and for a car. This is the reality for many." She also mourns how work demands even affect romantic relationships: "If you have a partner here in the United States, you aren't even happy because you spend all your time working. You have no time for the relationship."

The video, which has already garnered thousands of comments and reactions, ends with a heartbreaking message about the loneliness she claims to have found in the United States. "If you've never felt alone, you will feel alone here every day. You have no one to support you," the young woman expressed, clearly affected.

The post has sparked debate on social media, with some users supporting it and sharing their own similar experiences, while others encourage the person to return to the Dominican Republic.

"Reality is that today, no one is there for anyone, although good people do appear. However, we only live to work and pay bills. You suffer from insomnia and everything else," "You're right, we're not all in the same situation. I wake up happy at 4 AM to go to work because I have goals, and making money through my work is my happiness. Find a purpose, and you'll see everything differently," or "The habits in this country have nothing to do with us Latinos. If you don't adapt, sadness will consume you," said some users.
