The Cuban influencer José Ernesto González Carnota, better known as Carnota, had a delightful experience when he embraced the Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes 15 years after first meeting him in Havana.
The young comedian approached Juanes in a parking lot and showed him a photo of the two of them taken in the Cuban capital in 2009, during the days of the Peace without Borders concert.
In the image, Carnota is seen at just 13 years old, happy and proud beside his idol.
"In Cuba, remember? I am Ivette's son, she's my mom," a confession that surprised the singer, who smiled and shook his hand.
After the hug, Juanes asked him how his mother was, to which the YouTuber replied, "She’s fine, in Chicago."
In the Instagram post, several users expressed their curiosity about who Carnota's mother is and what she did in Cuba. It was not easy to get so close to Juanes during the days he went to Havana to organize the Paz sin Fronteras concert, a groundbreaking world-class event with significant international impact.
"Who is Carnota's mother, what level of party leader does she hold?" "To reach Juanes, at the very least, his mother must be a colonel." "Who is Carnota's mother? She's a big deal in Cuba." "The question is how Juanes knows Carnota's mother." "Now you've confirmed what many of us suspected!" were some of the comments.
The young man's mother, named Ivette Carnota Acosta, lives in Chicago with her younger son. In June, she completed a Master's degree in Education.
" Proud of you. My mom has a Master's in Education," the comedian wrote on his social media while attending the graduation ceremony.
That day, his mother wore a band with the Cuban flag, and on her cap was written the message: "For my children. In pursuit of a dream, how many hopes," accompanied by drawings of a zunzún and a butterfly.
