The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) announced a 50% discount on certain fishing and hunting licenses until January 3, 2025, to encourage outdoor activities in the state.

Among the licenses included in the promotion are the annual and five-year Gold Sportsman licenses, as well as the Youth Lifetime Sportsman licenses.

Additionally, the annual combined license for freshwater and saltwater fishing will now be available for just $5, according to the announcement made following a recent executive order signed by Governor Ron DeSantis.

"This initiative is a fantastic opportunity for families in Florida to enjoy quality time outdoors and connect with the incredible wildlife and ecosystems of our state," stated FWC Executive Director Roger Young.

"We hope more residents will be encouraged to explore fishing and hunting in Florida, and that this interest will drive support for conservation efforts throughout the state," he emphasized.

Discounted licenses can be obtained in the following ways:

- Online: through GoOutdoorsFlorida.com.

- At local offices: at the state tax collection offices.

- Via mobile app: by downloading the Fish/Hunt FL app, available for Apple and Android devices.

Additionally, the Gold Sportsman licenses for one and five years can also be purchased through authorized agents.

To find them, simply visit GoOutdoorsFlorida.com, select “Purchase Recreational Licenses & Permits,” and click on “Locate an Agent.”

With this promotion, the FWC aims to encourage outdoor activities and promote contact with nature, while also incentivizing support for state conservation programs, the text states.
