"It's like playing Tetris": This Cuban woman packs her carry-on for the island

Cubana shares tips for packing your suitcase for the island: Learn to make the most of every space like in Tetris.

If you’ve ever wondered what you can pack in your carry-on when traveling to Cuba, @atrevetebyrosy has the answers. This content creator, known for her useful travel tips, shared a video on TikTok where she details how to maximize space and pack essential items for your family.

On this occasion, Rosy explained how she carries basic foods like rice, pasta, coffee, and beans, utilizing every corner of her luggage. According to her, packing the suitcase is like playing Tetris: “Rice is very heavy, but it takes up very little space, so I put fourteen pounds in my carry-on.” She also mentioned that she prefers small packages of beans to make distribution easier once she arrives in Cuba.

The video is part of a series in which @atrevetebyrosy has already demonstrated how to carry products such as meat, deli meats, and cheese, and promises to reveal more tips in upcoming videos, including how to transport pizza and bread.

The comments came in quickly, with many users expressing gratitude for the advice, while others seized the opportunity to ask practical questions: “What type of cheese do you recommend?”, “Is it possible to bring sugar in carry-on luggage?” or “Are backpacks still allowed as a personal item?” There were also those who shared their experiences: “I took a Royal sack; it takes up little space,” while others admitted their anxiety about traveling to Cuba for the first time.
