A traffic accident occurred on Friday involving a car and an electric motorcycle that collided at the dangerous intersection of San Francisco and Calvario streets in the heart of Santiago de Cuba.

Independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada shared photos of the vehicles involved: a blue private car with license plate number P052766 and a motorcycle with license plate U19196.

According to the information shared on their Facebook wall, the car collided with the motorcycle. The motorcycle was left lying in the street, while the vehicle apparently sustained no damage.

The crash resulted in serious injuries to a woman who was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle, and she was taken to the hospital. The driver did not suffer any serious injuries.

"Several people helped immobilize the woman, while others gathered her belongings scattered in the middle of the road, until they loaded her into the car that came to their aid," the post details.

As of the time of writing this note, the condition of the woman injured in the accident is unknown.

On December 11th, a traffic accident in Camagüey claimed one life and left two others injured.

The incident occurred when two motorcycles traveling at 120 km/h collided with an American car. The deceased was one of the motorcyclists, who was riding with his underage son, who has been hospitalized. The second motorcyclist was also admitted to the hospital and underwent surgery on his head.

The collision was so severe that it blew out one of the vehicle's tires.

On November 27th, in Havana, a Peugeot car collided with a motorcycle on Calzada de San Miguel, near Virgen del Camino. The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries.

A few days earlier, another serious accident occurred between a jeep and a motorcycle, resulting in at least one fatality. The incident happened in the Santiago municipality of Songo-La Maya, when both vehicles went down a slope after a tire on the jeep exploded.

Although there were initially no deaths, it was later confirmed that the motorcycle rider, a young soldier from Guantánamo, lost his life.
