“On the morning of this Wednesday, there are favorable conditions for the formation of fog banks and mist across much of the Cuban territory, especially in inland areas. As we know, this hydrometeorological phenomenon significantly reduces visibility, so we recommend that drivers exercise extreme caution,” Ruisanchez warned on his social media.

The warning comes just two days after the tragic accident that occurred in Ciego de Ávila, where dense fog contributed to the collision of two buses on the road connecting Morón to the Island of Turiguanó. The incident resulted in six fatalities and 59 injuries, all of whom are receiving medical attention at the Morón hospital.

According to traffic authorities, human error was identified as the primary cause of the accident, which occurred in low visibility conditions due to fog.

The Minister of Transport, Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, expressed his condolences to the affected families and emphasized the need to reinforce road safety measures in the country.

"It is a profoundly painful event, as human lives are lost due to something that should not have happened," stated Rodríguez Dávila during a meeting of the National Road Safety Commission.

The meeting addressed the main causes of accidents in Cuba, which the authorities of the regime attribute to a lack of attention to vehicle control, disregard for right-of-way, and excessive speed.

The recent incident has raised concerns among the population and underscores the urgency of adopting additional precautions in the face of adverse weather conditions, such as fog. The people of Morón have responded with solidarity, coming out in large numbers to donate blood for the injured.

Drivers are urged to use low beams, maintain a safe distance, and reduce speed if encountering fog on the road.
