A Cuban resident in the United States shared on TikTok her experience of what she believes represents the "true American dream": exhausting workdays that leave barely any time for rest.

"I wanted to live the American dream; this is the American dream: getting up at five in the morning and coming back home at six in the evening. You eat, lie down, wake up feeling tired, but you have to work because if you don't work, you don't eat," the young woman said in a video where she appears inside a car, dressed in her work uniform.

The user, identified on the platform as @maydari6, added that while the daily routine can be exhausting, she is driven by the need to get ahead: “He wants to work because if he doesn’t work, he doesn’t eat, and if you don’t work, you get notifications instead of two and blessings for everyone.”

His testimony reflects the reality of many immigrants who arrive in the United States with expectations of prosperity, but face the challenge of enduring long working hours to support themselves financially.

The video has generated reactions among other users, some of whom identify with the experience, while others recall that, despite the sacrifices, hard work is part of the journey toward better opportunities.
