The Cuban animator and creator Davinson Núñez (@tuanimadorfavorito) has conquered TikTok with a short film that reinterprets the popular song “El Punto” by the late reggaeton artist José Manuel Carvajal Zaldívar, known as "El Taiger".
The animated video takes place in Havana, in the nostalgic style of the 1950s and set to the rhythm of bolero, a genre that El Taiger enjoyed greatly, although he didn’t typically perform it.
"This is how 'El Punto' would sound if it had been recorded in 1950s Havana...," wrote Davinson while presenting the video, which combines animation, humor, and an impeccable musical arrangement rich in retro sound.
The proposal, which began as a creative experiment, has turned into a tribute to El Taiger.
The actor and content creator Ariel Zamora (@ariel.zamora_actor) used the bolero version to perform it with gestures, and his video received thousands of views and supportive comments.
Users celebrate the fusion between classic bolero and "reparto," highlighting phrases like "El Taiger would have been happy with this version" and "With this song, you revived bolero and El Taiger."
The project confirms the ingenuity of a new generation of Cuban creators who, with respect, humor, and talent, keep alive the musical essence of El Taiger, just as the popular artist would have liked to be remembered.
