A group made up of more than 50 Cubans who were deported by Mexico arrived this Friday in Havana, on a plane from the Federal Police of the Aztec country, the agency reported. Latin Press.
These are people who left the Island legally but arrived in the Latin American nation irregularly and have now been returned, under the migration agreements signed between both countries.
According to the publication, the procedure followed with them is to let them return home to their families, with the exception of those who have a case pending with the justice system before leaving the country.
This is the second flight that the official press reports, among the many returnees that arrive in the Caribbean nation.
Last March 27 Another 68 Cubans arrived in Havana: 45 men, 20 women and one minor, who were undocumented in Mexico while trying to reach the United States.
One of them was interviewed by the media, and recommended that those who wish to emigrate in this way think carefully “because they are playing with their lives and risk dying outside their country.”
Cubans continue trying to reach the United States despite the elimination of the “wet foot, dry foot” policy.
Recently, the United States Customs and Border Protection reported that in recent months 6,289 island migrants have entered that country from Mexican soil.
In the city of Tapachula there are at least 4,000 emigrants of the island and in Ciudad Juárez there are another 2,000. Meanwhile, a group has joined a caravan of central americans that is rising towards the border.
