The new record comes just one day after that same weather station reached 39.3 degrees Celsius, on Saturday the 11th.
The high temperatures in Cuba do not let up in Havana either, where the Climate Center this Monday validated a maximum temperature of 38.5 degrees at Casablanca station, which has been admitted as a new absolute heat record for the capital, as specified today Cubadebate.
The Indio Hatuey station, in the province of Matanzas, also reached this Sunday, also reports a local record of 39.3 degrees Celsius.
According to specialists from the Institute of Meteorology, the significant rise in temperatures in the country in recent days is linked to an anticyclonic influence, as well as little rain, which accentuates the warming of the air.
Before the record of Saturday, April 11 - which has been broken again with this Sunday's 39.7 degrees - the previous national record had been reached on June 30, 2019, and was 39.1 degrees Celsius.
