The Cuban children's program "La Sombrilla Amarilla" and several friends from the show scattered across various cities around the world have come together to participate in the popular challenge that is taking social media by storm, featuring the song "Jerusalema" by South African artists Master KG and Nomcebo.
To achieve this, they have created a video that they uploaded to YouTube featuring the artists of "La Sombrilla Amarilla" dancing to the rhythm of the single from Havana, dressed as their characters, including Norma Reina (Marcolina), Rodolfo (Monchi Pío), and Michaelis (Enrique Chiquito).
The initiative was also joined by the actor Lieter Ledesma, who played the character Juan Andarín on the show, and Naomi, the daughter of Normal Reina, both from the city of Miami (Florida), their place of residence.
From Spain, we can also see the participation of the young actor Rubén, who played Albertico in "La Sombrilla Amarilla," but is now living in Madrid.
Cuban friends and family members of the program residing in the Spanish city of Cádiz also joined the challenge, bringing joy to the video with their fun choreographies.
"And from different geographies, La Sombrilla Amarilla and the family of friends come together in this song of love and hope that is Jerusalema, with the wish that this horrible pandemic soon comes to an end," can be read at the end of the video.
"Jerusalema" has become one of the latest musical sensations globally. South African artists Master KG and Nomcebo have managed to create a trend with their song, prompting thousands of people around the world to join in dancing to the hit.
The music video for "Jerusalema" was uploaded to YouTube on the Openmic Productions channel 10 months ago and to date has amassed over 228 million views.
