Cuban musician Yotuel Romero dedicated a video circulating on social media to the “ciberclarias” who advocate the slogan "Homeland or Death," featuring Sandro Castro, the grandson of Fidel Castro, driving a Mercedes-Benz on the roads of Havana.

"This video is dedicated to the cyber critics who judge us and advocate with their 'Homeland or Death.' Here is their medicine; see how their own enjoy the Homeland and life. Shameful!" said the artist.

Yotuel noted that while people in Cuba cannot afford a car because the Cuban government sells them at high prices, Fidel Castro's grandson flaunts his new "toy" on social media.

"We will continue to fight so that our people can also dream of buying a Mercedes. Homeland and Life for my Cuban people as well," stated Yotuel Romero.

The video of Sandro Castro driving a Mercedes-Benz circulated on social media and has sparked countless reactions, alluding to the tremendous crisis facing the people. The grandson of Fidel is heard saying, "We are simple people, but now and then we have to bring out these little toys we have at home," referring to the luxury car he is driving.

Another Cuban artist who responded to Sandro Castro's video was the actor and comedian Alexis Valdés, who dedicated a series of décimas titled "Carets that Fall" to him.

In the verses, Alexis refers to the omission of issues like these in the official Cuban media, which highlight the double standards of the Castro family. He also points out that attitudes like those of Sandro Castro could be interpreted as "a slap in the face" to Cubans.

Cuban independent journalist Mónica Baró also reacted to Sandro Castro's video. In her post shared on the social media platform Facebook, she denounced the opulence that the Castro family has enjoyed, while Raúl and Fidel spent decades demanding efforts and sacrifices from the Cuban people.

Baró notes that while the Revolution was a "dream of social justice," the video showing Sandro boasting about his Mercedes-Benz reveals that this dream either "was born perverted or was corrupted along the way, but it was never fulfilled."

Sandro Castro is one of Fidel Castro's most well-known grandsons. He has been active on social media on various occasions, often flaunting his luxuries and the pleasures of the life he leads. In September 2019, amid a major hydrocarbon crisis, he posted a photo with his car filled with fuel.
