Alexis Valdés Gutiérrez is a Cuban comedian, playwright, and director. He was born on August 6, 1963, in Havana, Cuba.

He graduated in Film Direction from the Film School of the Higher Institute of Art in Havana. He had previously completed a degree in engineering as well.

He lived on the Island until 1990 after years of achieving success as an actor and comedian, solidifying Cristinito as his star character. From his work in Cuba, he has received, among others, an "Award for Best Performance" and the "Grand Popularity Award" (International Monologue Festival, Havana, 1989, 1992). His performances in Sabadazo are among the highlights of Cuban television magazines.

In 1990, he moved to Spain, where he worked in film, theater, and television. During this newly fruitful phase of his career, he received numerous awards and honors, including the "Premio Sebastíà Guasch" (Barcelona, 1998) and the "Premio Ancla de Oro" (Revelation Comedian, Madrid, 1998). He became a regular on El Club de la Comedia and directed his first film (A King in Havana, 2005).

He currently resides in Miami, where he has hosted several television programs such as Esta noche tu night (Megatv) and Seguro que Yes. In January 2020, he returned to Miami television with El show de Alexis Valdés on the Mega TV network.

His most famous alter ego, Cristinito, is a character created over 30 years ago, which the artist himself has described as an heir to the tradition of Cantinflas and Tres Patines, whose greatest appeal lies in the interplay he has with language.

In addition to television and film, where he has also ventured into dubbing animated movies, he has directed, starred in, and written plays that have received a warm reception from audiences in Miami. Officially Gay, which consisted of three parts, was a box office success, as was Your Cousin the Monkey, a brief story about devolution.

Alexis Valdés is a very influential and beloved figure within the Cuban community. His reflections on the harsh reality faced by Cubans are frequently shared on his Instagram profile.
