Miami police looking for the driver of a Maserati who hit a man in Little Havana

The blow was so strong that the shoes of the injured man, a 30-year-old man, were scattered on the street.

A traffic accident occurred Wednesday night in Miami, where a driver hit a pedestrian and fled, leaving him lying in the street with serious injuries.

The victim, a 30-year-old man identified as Luis Miguel Barroso, was rushed to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where doctors had to amputate his leg.

The incident happened just before 8:30 p.m. between 7th Street and 8th Avenue in southwest Miami, in Little Havana.

The police are investigating the incident. For now it is known that the driver was in a white Maserati Levante and that he accelerated after the collision.

Neighbors in the area claim that the blow was so strong that the injured man's shoes were scattered on the street, as shown in a video taken by the network.CBS Miami.

"He ran the red light, ran over the boy and then continued," Miami police spokesman Michael Vega told reporters.

Luis Miguel Barroso is in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital, as revealed toUnivision his sister Nincy Barroso.

"I didn't know that everything that was happening here was with my brother and my mom is devastated," he said.
