Relatives of the Cuban political prisoner Andy Garcia Lorenzo They assured that they will not remain silent in the face of intimidation from State Security, for demanding the freedom of those who remain behind bars after 11J.
Jonathan Lopez, García Lorenzo's brother-in-law, and his father Pedro, face judicial proceedings for alleged crimes against the Cuban state, including "incitement to commit a crime."
"We want to denounce this circus. We are not going to remain silent. They are going to have to put us in there (in jail)," López said through a video he published live on Facebook.
At that moment a blackout occurred, something that has become frequent in recent months and that both López and his girlfriend, Roxana García Lorenzo, describe as "lack of respect for the people."
This Tuesday, Jonatan and his father went to testify before the police, but it caught their attention that the lawyer they hired was locked in the office for half an hour with the officers who were in charge of taking note of the process.
At the end of the interrogation, they asked for a copy of his statement but were denied, because supposedly they are not authorized to have the document or even to take a photo of it.
"With this we do not mean, or we do not know, that the lawyer is working for them, but we are quite sure that they are putting a lot of pressure on her, she is even nervous," said López.
Roxana García Lorenzo, Jonatan's partner and Andy's sister, assured that everything that State Security does against her family is aimed at making them waste time and not defending the freedom of political prisoners, whom they also help with food and hygiene products thanks to a project funded voluntarily by hundreds of people outside of Cuba.
"They are destroying the youth and the worthy people of this country. They should start looking for criminals in the streets, instead of being involved in this," he asserted.
The couple denied any type of accusation that State Security and its officials could make against them; and they described themselves as good people, honest workers and without outstanding accounts with the law.
"They have nothing to say. Everything is fabricated and that is why you dislike our family so much because you have nothing to catch us by," they stressed.
The family of Andy García Lorenzo has confronted State Security on several occasions and The last thing they did to them was accuse them of "instigation to commit a crime" for publishing videos on social networks that allegedly invite people to demonstrate against the government.
They also confiscated their phones and imposed fines of 3,000 CUP. for violating Decree Law 370, described by independent civil society as a violation of freedom of expression.
