The pizzas that are made and sold at the state establishment La Scala de Milano, in front of the Plaza de Marte, in Santiago de Cuba, are of poor quality, reported customers from that city.
"It is a complete lack of respect and no one responds to this," wrote an Internet user who identified herself as Yiyi Yiyi on Facebook.
The woman says that she bought a ham pizza at that gastronomic place and not only did it hurt her to lose 200 Cuban pesos for poor quality food, but her son ate it because he had no other option.
"Believe me, it's disgusting, if my child had allowed me, I swear I would throw it away," she added.
Other consumers in Santiago de Cuba also joined the criticism made on Facebook and revealed the inadequacies ofa location that opened in 2018 and which apparently has never received good reviews from residents.
"I went about 2 months ago, I never go again. Bad service, the soft drink is served to you glass in hand without a tray, bare cutlery on the table, they pick up your plate almost with the last bite in your mouth, and the quality is very bad. It's total incompetence," said one Internet user.
Others assured that the state's gastronomic institutions never offer good services and that it is always better to go to an individual, which currently has similar prices and the quality of the offering is much higher.
"Everything that is state-owned lacks quality because it is a vicious circle, abusing working people without anyone taking action on the matter," wrote another person.
Over the years, gastronomic services in Cuba have deteriorated, as a result of the negligence of officials and the inability of the state to guarantee quality in such a large sector.
Although private workers have demonstrated competitiveness in the offer and the opinion of the population, the authorities continue to cling to providing a service that is far from respecting the consumer.
In the midst of the shortage of food and raw materials, the dairy products company of Santiago de Cuba announced the start of making ice cream with soy and rice flour, to replace chemically modified starch.
One of the most anticipated festivals in that eastern Cuban city are the carnivals, which take place in July and have been characterized by their diversity of offers.
Those of this 2022, for many residents, werethe worst in the history of Santiago de Cuba, not only the high prices of the gastronomic offers, but also the poor organization of the festivities.
