The prominent Cuban doctorRoque Roque Frias, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, died this Monday in Havana.

Roque Roque Frias He was born on September 27, 1936 in Guara, Melena del Sur, in the current Mayabeque province. He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine in April 1962. He had a successful professional career and is recognized as one of the most illustrious Cuban public health professionals.
He directed several medical institutions in different provinces of the country. Among them the “Eusebio Hernández Pérez” Maternity Hospital, known as Maternidad Obrera; the Regional Health Directorate of Central Havana; and the Marianao Regional Health Directorate. He was also Provincial Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the former Havana Province.
CurrentlyHe worked at the “Enrique Cabrera” General Teaching Hospital (National Hospital). He received multiple national and international distinctions and recognitions.
Roque Roque Frias He is the author of several books on gynecology and obstetrics and has numerous publications in specialized magazines in Cuba and abroad. His best known work isMom's Book.
