Cuba is the ninth most miserable country in the world

The renowned American economistSteve Hanke He described Cuba as the ninth most miserable country in the world, as a consequence of the disastrous economic policies adopted by the communist government in Havana.

Hanke's annual misery index for 2022 placed Cuba below Ukraine, Yemen, Argentina, Sudan, Lebanon, Syria, Venezuela and Zimbabwe.

For Hanke, Cuba's biggest problem is in theinflation, which has a ratio of 96.8%, according to their calculations.

Subsequently, the expert mentioned in another tweet that since January 2022, the Cuban peso has lost 63% of its value against the US dollar, whichIt is sold at 195 CUP, and is placed this week in fourth place on the "Hanke's Currency Watchlist".

The economist warned that the communist regimehas destroyed the value of the Cuban peso, which further aggravates the critical economic situation of the nation.

These alarming data highlight the serious economic crisis that plagues Cuba, with an evident loss of value of the peso against the dollar and a direct impact on the purchasing power of citizens and their quality of life.

This is how uncontrolled inflation and inefficient economic policies have led the population to face extreme difficulties in meeting their basic needs.

Various reports,including some from Hanke, demonstrate the widespread poverty experienced in Cuba, due to macroeconomic policies that only exacerbate the problem.
