The Cuban boy Álvaro Tadeo went to the final of La Voz Kids on Saturday with a spectacular performance that earned him the public's preference.
Álvaro performed "If I can dream", a song popularized by Elvis Presley with which he displayed his talent and beautiful voice.
The young man, who is part of coach Aitana's team, was the most voted by the public present in the theater. It is already the second time in the contest that it has won the votes of the viewers.
After knowing the result of the popular vote, Aitana chose a Spanish girl named Manuela de la Fuente. Álvaro and she are the two talents who will go to the final on the Catalan singer and songwriter's team.
Two weeks ago, the Cuban-Spanish teenager was chosen as a semifinalist in the rounds phase of the contest.
Tadeo, 13, performed the Frank Sinatra song that he sang in the blind auditions titled The way you look tonight (The way you look tonight), and deserved the public vote.
One week before, when advancing to the assault phase, had expressed that this victory meant a lot to him and his family.
"It is a great step in my musical career and a great personal achievement," he stressed then.
In April, when the blind auditions took place, her powerful voice and interpretive maturity immediately conquered the coaches Rosario Flores and Aitana, who turned around a few seconds before starting his performance.
When having to choose one of them, the little Cuban preferred to join the team by Aitana.
Álvaro Tadeo lives in Tenerife and says he feels "half Canarian and half Cuban", although "a little more Cuban than Canarian".
Despite his young age, he likes to dress in an elegant suit. And as for his musical preferences, he performs various genres, especially ballads, boleros, salsa and merengue.
"I think I'm going to surprise the coaches with my style because it's not something very common here at La Voz Kids and I hope they like my performance a lot. I'm an old-timer, I only sing old music," he commented at the beginning of the competition.
Before La Voz Kids España she had already participated in other singing competitions on Spanish television.
In 2021, his interpretation of the song was very popular Like a wave, on the show Idol Kids. Isabel Pantoja, who was part of the jury, was moved and could not help but burst into tears when she remembered Rocío Jurado, who made that topic famous.
