New York Mayor Eric Adams decreed on July 16 Celia Cruz Day in the city, 20 years after the departure of "la Guarachera de Cuba".

The proclamation was made this Sunday within the framework of the fifth "New York Cuban and Hispanic American Parade", which is dedicated to the "Queen of Salsa", on the twentieth anniversary of her death.

The mayor of New York, who recognized that this city is made by immigrants, applauded the cultural strengthening of the metropolis to which Celia Cruz contributed so much.

The parade, "an opportunity to deepen our knowledge of Cuban culture," was a celebration of Latin music and culture along Madison Avenue, from 38th to 27th Streets.

Two decades after he lost his battle with cancer, the Cuban community paid tribute to him by dedicating a float to him in New York, and going to his mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.

"As the first Cuban rapper to break out... in the United States... it's incredible to be here. The rain, you know, is delaying us a little bit from a schedule point of view, but I think it's a blessing to be able to be here and sharing in culture and community two icons who created a kind of jazz fusion that ended up being salsa and that has influenced artists from all over the world," said Cuban rapper Don Dinero.

With a memorial mass and a bank with your name At the Ermita de la Caridad del Cobre in Miami, the Cuban exile paid tribute to the singer Celia Cruz in South Florida.

The tribute took place on Friday night with a remembrance mass and the inauguration of a memorial bench in front of the Malecón built in the Ermita, the spiritual precinct of the Cuban community in exile.

Likewise, on the 21st of this month a display of your wardrobe and personal items called "Celia Cruz Forever" at the Tower Theater in Little Havana in Miami.
