Camila Cabello was one of the honorees at the 2023 Youth Awards when she received the special award "Agent of Change" at the gala held this Thursday at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The Cuban singer was worthy of this recognition “for her philanthropic work towards the improvement of youth around the world.”

After going on stage to collect the award, Camila Cabello dedicated a few words, which she even had written, to everyone present.

After thanking the reggaeton singer Wisin in charge of presenting her with the award, the artist added that it means a lot to her, especially in this world we are living in where natural disasters are a kind of call for help from the planet.

“When I was younger I was afraid of the word activist, I felt that it was not for me, that it was a lot of responsibility and it honestly intimidated me, and now it is a word to which I aspire,” Camila confessed.

She ended her speech with one of the phrases that most motivates her: “Never doubt that a small group of committed citizens can change the world, because it really is the only way it has been achieved.”

In addition to Camila Cabello, another person who received this recognition was the Colombian Shakira, who was also the biggest winner of the night with a total of eight awards.

Camila Cabello had two nominations to this 20th edition of the Premios Juventud because he appeared in the Best Pop Album category with his album Family, and in Pop Track of the Year with the Colombian Camilo for the song “Ambulance”, but he could not take home any statuette.

Other nominated Cubans who also did not win awards were Lenier Mesa, the duo Gente de Zona and Aymée Nuviola.
