Cubans denounce fraud at the Santa María Music Fest

"Since we arrived at 6:00 in the afternoon we have been lying in the lobby without a room, without being able to bathe, without anything. The children sleeping outside, on the floor, bathing them in the sinks in the lobby. They don't give you an answer about anything" said a young woman.

Dozens of Cubans are denouncing on the Internet the scam they suffered at the Santa María Music Fest, because upon arriving in Cayo Santamaría with their reservations made, they found thatThere was an overbooking of rooms and now they have nowhere to stay.

A young woman who identifies herself on Instagram as Kathy Havana, broadcast in a live stream the situation she has been experiencing at the Gran Muthu hotel since she arrived on Thursday at 6:00 pm.

"We were waiting for the bus since 6:00 in the morning, and since we arrived at 6:00 in the afternoon we are lying in the lobby with nothing, without a room, without being able to bathe, without anything. The children sleeping outside, in the floor, bathing them in the sinks in the lobby. They don't give you an answer about anything, because nobody knows anything," he said.

Katy showed the hotel lobby, where people with their suitcases lying on the floor are waiting for a solution.

"They haven't just given you an answer about your money, accommodation, or anything," he stressed.

The young woman said that she had not slept all night, and that this morning they were allowed to enter a restaurant for breakfast, but that there was not even sugar to add to the yogurt.

Upset and at times on the verge of tears, she reiterated that she no longer knew how many people she had spoken to, and asked them to share her live video on the networks.

Katy reported that she has not received a response from any hotel manager, and that the Cayo Santa María website saw her messages and left her as 'seen'.

"Supposedly a man from Gaviota came who hasn't done anything either, because you ask them and they stay silent and no one tells you anything," he added.

Numerous Internet users commented on the publication, outraged at such a lack of respect.

"What a bad time, really, that has no explanation, I can only find one answer: they oversold the hotel rooms and now they are not giving answers. Knowing that everyone who is there paid and is in that situation, how horrible everything is," said one young.

"I consider you, right now they can give you the super suite because you already had a bad time and you are not going to enjoy it the same," said another.

A user identified as Osleidy 03 pointed out that the Gran Memories hotel is even worse. "The lobby even more crowded and the children sleeping here on the floor, without bathing or anything."

Another Cuban named Jennifer Bárbara suggested to Katy not to leave. "We were the same, but stay in Santa María, they sent us to Playa Coco, which has capacity," he wrote.

According to the messages that the young woman received in thestories, some of those affected were taken to Varadero.

Others recounted their situation, with sick family members becauseThey had to wait in Havana for more than six hours for transportation, and when they arrived at the hotel, in addition to not having a room, they were not even able to have access to a doctor.

"They even cut off our connection and coverage for almost half an hour, because they are obviously aware of the situation and do nothing," denounced an affected person.

While dozens of Cubans, including small children, remain on hotel floors without knowing when they will be able to access a room, the Santa María Music Fest continues to promote the event with great fanfare.

"The energy is full at the Santa María Arena with loud music! Live unforgettable moments and share your experiences in the comments," he expressed on his Instagram account.
