Roger Roger contacted the family of the old man, who lives in the Abel Santamaría neighborhood of Guantánamo, and promised to cover the costs of the passport and the ticket to Limonta.
He also showed how agroup of Cubans brought humanitarian aid, clothes, shoes and fresh food to the immigrant.
In a moving video, the old man burst into tears when he heard his sister's voice through a video call, where she told him that she wanted to welcome him into her home.
Last April, another group of Cubans asked for help for an elderly woman who had been living on the streets in Tampa with her pets for two years.
María Brito, an elderly Cuban woman, lived in a mobile home from which she was evicted after being hospitalized for a time and unable to pay the rent.
Around that time, the case of another Cuban woman who wandered around the city of Hialeah with her three minor children during the day because she had nowhere to live came to light.
The woman, who began to receive help from the community, was able to celebrate the birthday of her youngest child thanks to the solidarity of a daycare center in Coral Gables.
