The Cuban tiktokerErick Hernandez shared a bus tour of the city on social mediacalle Monte in Havana, one of the busiest in the city.
TheMount Causeway, calle Monte OMaximo Gomez Avenue, crosses the Centro Habana municipality. It was one of the most important commercial arteries of Cuba before 1959 but currently it is in absolute misery.
"Monte Street took you. Look,Havana can't take it anymore", they are heard saying in the video as they pass in front of an endless row of ruined, unpainted and destroyed buildings.
In Erick's video you can see theterrible state of the Havana urban landscape, the face of poverty reflected in the inhabitants and the abandonment that reigns everywhere in this area, full ofbuildings in danger of collapse.
Destroyed sidewalks, cracked columns, ruins, collapsed portals, garbage and debris in every corner. After more than six decades of communism, thecalle Monte, which was once acommercial hub of Havana, has been transformed into the road of desolation.
What do you think?
