The Russian officer would serve in that role since October 2020, two years before the start ofRussia's invasion of Ukrainian territory. According to the aforementioned media, the 137th Parachute Regiment would be involved in a large number of important military operations in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The paratrooper unit in Ryazan belongs to the Western Military District of the Russian Ministry of Defense and is part of the 106th Airborne Division of the Parachute Troops, based in the city of Tula, according toRyazan Vedomosti.

Precisely in that city is stationed the largestAnton Valentinovich Perevozchikov, a senior Russian officer who - according to the digital media's revelationsThe Intercept- would be involved in recruiting Cubans for the invasion of Ukraine.

Activist hackers from Ukraine, known as the “Cyber Resistance,” infiltrated Perevozchikov's personal email account and revealed thatHe had in his possession 122 scanned passports of Cubans recruited at the headquarters of the Russian Armed Forces in the city of Tula.

Several of these Cuban mercenaries in turn sent photographs of their time through these military barracks to theinfluencer Alain Cuban Paparazzi. After the first revelations that confirmed the presence of Cuban mercenaries hired by the Russian Army, Havana remained silent until last Monday, when in a statement the regime claimed to be working to dismantle a human trafficking network dedicated to transporting Cuban citizens to the conflict, as well as as well as to recruit others who already resided in Russia. At least 17 people were arrested.

Recently, an officer of theRevolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) who claimed to be in Russia toocontradicted the statements of the Cuban regime about a “human trafficking network,” and assured that the 90 Cubans under his command left the island with the full knowledge of the authorities.

None of us left the country illegally.", stated FAR Second Lieutenant Lázaro González, and confirmed that both he and the Cubans under his command were not recruited in Cuba by an illegal plot, but by signing a contract with the Russian army.
