A total of 10 people were rescued after being trapped after the flooding of the Cayo Guam River, in the municipality of Moa, Holguín.
"At this time, the Rescue and Rescue Unit of the Pedro Soto Alba factory and the 30th Command of the Minint are carrying out the rescue of 10 people, trapped on one side of the Cayo Guam river, in the municipality of Moa,"The local telecenter Tele Cristal reported on Facebook this Saturday afternoon.
The lives of the trapped people are not in danger, but the river has risen and they cannot cross it without help, said telecenter journalist Yulieska Hernández García.
“A whole team, very professional and well equipped, is already acting in the rescue,” said the journalist.

At the end of July, four people,including two minors, died in a tragic accident in the town of Las Tosas, in Sancti Spíritus.
The catastrophe occurred when a family traveling in a private truck tried to cross a swollen river on a bridge without railings.
There were 10 people traveling in the vehicle. During the crossing, the driver lost control of the truck, which left the road and was swept away by the waters, with all its occupants.
Two male children, aged four and 15, lost their lives in the accident, along with a 49-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman.
