A Cuban woman reported having been the victim of an attempt toscam after in onestore in Freely Convertible Currency (MLC) in the townCerro, in Havana, they will try to sell you a ham with aprice adulterated because it was labeled as another type of ham.

The Internet user Ana Fernándezdenounced in the Facebook group "Products in MLC, where are there" that after asking in a store in Boyeros and Camagüey the price of a kilogram of ham, the clerk told him that each piece had the price marked.

When insisting on the value of the kilogram, the employee in question answered vaguely: 7 or so.

He says that when he searched the blackboard for the price of the ham he did not find it, that he took a 0.9 kg piece in the refrigerator that was worth 8.20 MLC, which meant that the kilogram was valued at more than what he had said the clerk.

After questioning the lack of coherence between what he had told him and the labeled price,The employee looked in a notebook, entered a code on the weight and told him that the kilogram was actually worth 6.85 MLC.

“He tells me as an 'apology' that he was confused and that he was charging for it like I don't know which ham [which it is not]”, he related.

However, the complainant claims that shortly afterwards a woman - to whom she had explained what happened - came to buy a piece and was told no, that the price was what the packages said.

"They didn't correct anything", the complainant complained.

"In order not to continue telling a long story, they charge more to then take the ham because the bill does not show that you took 1 or 2 kg of ham, it only says 10 usd or 9 or 12, and when it comes time to settle what They sold, you know,” added Ana Fernández.

In the final segment of her complaint, the Internet user insisted that“You have to complain politely at the moment, report to the police, pay attention to everything and not get tired.”

In the comments section of the publication, dozens of Internet users were outraged by the abuse.

"What abuse!"; "It happens in all stores"; "Theft is rampant everywhere"; "On the other hand, one does not charge in that currency"; "It seems that the inspectorate is always absent in the stores in MLC, they raise prices every day, they attack a people who pay in a currency that they do not earn and nothing happens, where are we going to stop?" were some comments .

Several suggested that such maneuvers are often in agreement with the bosses themselves and there were also those who reported having been victims of similar incidents.

"Something similar happened to me and according to their mistake they were charging me 10 MLC more than the quick ham I bought. But I did claim it and they had to give me a refund. So be careful with that market for which you are not used to buying and know about prices. And if they tell you that prices fluctuate depending on the chains, it's a story because I experienced it firsthand," described one Internet user.

However, there were also those who tried to justify the employee's attitude under the argument that in Cuba everyone tries to get something out of their work because it is the only way to survive, a comment that generated controversy.

"It is because of people like you that we are where we are, nothing gives them the right to steal from the people, they work for a salary," stated a user of the group.
