Venezuela exported about 86,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) to Cuba during September, confirming the growing trend of crude oil shipments to the island in recent months.reportedReuters.

In August, exports of crude oil, fuel oil, diesel and gasoline from Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) to its allyhad reached 65,000 bpd, 53,000 bpd from July.

In September, Venezuelan oil exports to the world were the second highest so far this year, with shipments to China rising and exports to the US via Chevron falling.

The increase in Venezuelan crude oil exports last month was related to increased production and processing of extra-heavy crude oil in the country's main oil region, the Orinoco Belt.

The island's allies have tried to support the regime that has had to deal with a deep energy crisis.

This week it was learned that MExico has sent oil worth approximately 200 million dollars to Cuba this year, according to calculations by the Energy Institute of the University of Texas, in the United States.

However, the Mexican governmentwill begin to collect the crude oil it has been donating to Cuba to alleviate the pressure that “humanitarian aid” to the island represents on its public finances.

The Cuban government announcedan increase in blackouts this month and austerity measures due to the few fuel reserves it has.
