New videos shared through social networks provided even more evidence about the presence ofCuban mercenaries among the ranks of the Russian army during theinvasion of ukraine.
A couple of videos shared through the Ukrainian Telegram channel,Supernova+, showed Cuban citizens among Russia's uniformed men, sharing tasks and distractions with other combatants under the orders of the Kremlin.
Wearing the uniform of the Russian army, one of them appeared among other fighters - apparently of different nationalities - while helping to load a truck with supplies in the city of Lugansk.
In the second video, apparently recorded inside a tent, several Cubans are seen among the Russian soldiers. “What happened?” one of them can be heard saying, while another says: “Fire, fire, fire!”
At the end of October, a detailed article from the digital mediaInform Napalm assured thatat least 59 more Cuban mercenaries had arrived in Russian territory to sign a contract, three of whom were already on active duty as part of the army.
This was revealed by the media, citing Ukrainian hackers from the group as a source.Cyber Resistance. The revelations, that have been happening since the end of August, expose the Cuban regime that, after maintaining silence on the issue and offering contradictory statements, assured that there had beendismantled a mercenary supply network to Russia.
Cyber Resistance obtained and published the photographs of the passports of almost 60 more Cubans who had arrived in the Russian city of Tula between August 25 and September 29 to sign a contract.
"We do not see any measures taken by the Cuban Government to actually fight against mercenaries and attempts to bring participants to justice. The Cuban Government does not even block the channels of transferring funds to established mercenaries. There is also no evidence yet that Cuba has initiated criminal proceedings against already identified mercenaries," he observed.Inform Napalm.
"Consequently, when the Cuban ambassador in Moscow said that his Governmentwas not opposed to the participation of its citizens in the war against Ukraine, was probably more frank than the Cuban Foreign Ministry, whichwas quick to refute this claim"added the digital medium.
At the beginning of December, a short video was leaked on social networks showinga young Cuban in a Russian army trench in Ukraine.
Inform Napalm shared the audiovisual with a text ensuring that the images demonstrate the presence of Cuban mercenaries in the Russian trenches in Ukrainian territory.
"Cuban mercenaries appeared at the positions of the Russian troops, who signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation through the Military Commissariat of Tula and other cities," says the text accompanying the video on Telegram.
These facts show the contradiction between the reality on the ground and the statements of the ruler.Miguel Diaz-Canel, who in Octoberdenied Cuba's involvement in the war conflict.
However, the Cuban president admitted the existence of a clandestine network hiring citizens of the island for the Russian front in the war in Ukraine, which clashes with the image of neutrality that the regime wants to project.
The hiring of Cubans implies thepayment of sums of around 2,000 dollars monthly to every mercenary, a significantly lower figure compared to what was offered to the mobilized Russians.
According to this data, hundreds of Cubans would have been recruited, with long lists of people with newly issued passports who were drawn into the conflict that broke out in February 2022.
A senior Russian military officer confirmed on condition of anonymity that there are many young Cubans participating in the war. He assured that they come in search of economic improvements for their lives, butsome "disappear" and then their relatives look for them without understanding that they have probably died.
