A 40-year-old Cuban citizen was arrested in Montevideo, Uruguay, as a suspect in the murder of a 32-year-old man, they reported.local media.
The Cuban, of whom no further details are required, was shot in the left leg, a wound that, according to what he specified, was caused by the victim.
Both were found injured at the intersection of Bernardo de Guzmán and Timote streets, in the Uruguayan capital.
The police have identified two other people who participated in the events and are investigating their level of involvement.
According to the account of the events, the victim showed up at the Cuban's house and gave him the gunshot wound with an apparently 38 caliber pistol that had been wanted for theft since 2004. The weapon had two casings and two bullets.
The detainee and the other two men assured that they never shot him, a statement that is being investigated by the authorities.
For his part, the victim died after being taken by the police in serious condition to a medical center, where a wound on the right arm was diagnosed, with an entrance and no exit, the police report states.
The man had six criminal records for robbery and theft, the same document indicates.
